Argentina seems an odd place to spend one's beach vacation, but is isn't. This little corner of the world can offer you all the great experiences you've come to expect from the European and American beach destinations. It's just not the same though, not really. Some things come close, but except for the price, The San Marco in La Plata, Argentina does not offer anything spectacular. Room and board are standard and nothing to write home about. The hotel is very affordable though, and you can stay here indefinitely for around $40 a night during most of the year. La Plata offers access to some nice beaches, but again it is not quite the same level of quality as some other places in the world. This is a good first vacation, or a way to get going again if you haven't been out in a long time. It's not terribly far, inexpensive and easy to get to. The beaches are not of a low quality and you will be impressed, just not as much as you may have been. And still perhaps you will; beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all.
