Costa Rica is one of the few beach vacation destinations of the world that really pushes gambling. That isn't a bad thing really; vacation is about letting loose and throwing off your cares for a short period of time. A little gambling never hurt anyone. Puntarenas is one of many cities in Costa Rica which appeal to tourists looking for golden sands and, well, gold. The Hotel Tioga is a nice place to stay while you're in town, neither too expensive nor short on service for the price you pay. For around $120 a night during most of the year you get access to lots of ocean as well as being centrally located, which keeps the markets and nightlife of the city all within a short distance. A clean room and good food will both be constants here. In fact, don't feel surprised if your room stays spotless during your stay.
