Having a Doberman is not a big hygiene problem because his short and tight coat does not make it easy for ticks and other parasites. It doesn't require excessive exercise or a specially selected meal. The difficulty lies in its aggressive temperament, which must be treated with a firm hand to appease the dominant character of this breed. But if it is  educated and you give it love, it becomes a submissive and very affectionate dog, and shows blind loyalty to its owner.

Intelligent and brave, it is a friendly and affectionate dog, especially with children, although needing parental supervision as the Dobermann tends to play with a lot of energy because of its weight and muscles. It can do harm by accident. It has an innate sense of protection and is very distrustful of strangers. It is a working dog, created to accompany and protect.
