Despite a certain intemperance of character, the Australian terrier is a dog easy to educate and train. It doesn’t need frequent care but his hair should be brushed regularly. It adapts well to family life because it is an animated, loving, loyal and intelligent animal who loves to play with children. Descended from the English terrier and the Yorkshire, the race appeared in Sydney in 1899, and was first introduced in an exhibition in 1903 but was only recognized by the English Kennel Club thirty years later.
